National Public Health Week

National Public Health Week is April 3 – 9, 2017 and residents are encouraged to take this time to explore the services offered at Cobb & Douglas Public Health (CDPH). CDPH offers over 30 distinct public health programs, from those that primarily focus on the educational and health needs of residents, to the investigation and mitigation of infectious disease or foodborne illnesses that affect the entire population. A few of these services include:

Travel Health Services (770-514-2485) – In addition to vaccines, this clinic offers a private consultation to help clients avoid health and safety risks during international travel.

Child Health Services (770-514-2385) – Provides Well Child visits and Sick Care services to pediatric clients from birth to 20 years of age. In addition, provides infants, children and adolescents with hearing, vision, dental and nutrition screenings, and vaccinations needed for school.

Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) (770-514-2389) – Provides nutrition assessments, comprehensive health screenings, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and education, and vouchers for healthy foods to women, infants and children who are income eligible.

Perinatal Case Management (PCM) (770-514-2471) – The PCM staff at CDPH assists women with early prenatal care, Medicaid enrollment and provides healthy pregnancy education materials. In addition, the PCM staff also helps pregnant women with community referrals for others services, as needed.

Dental Health Clinic (770-514-2372) – Provides dental care to children and emergency dental care to adults. The clinic accepts a variety of insurance plans, and services are set at reasonably low prices for uninsured and underinsured patients.

Adult Health Services (770-514-2380) – Offers Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD)/Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Services, Adult Immunizations and more. In addition, adult women who meet certain criteria can receive services for breast exams, mammograms, pap tests and pelvic exams with little or no cost through the BreasTEST & More Program.
