Recently, I spoke with a longtime senior industry professional and friend. He and his wife had completed their estate planning with another firm about five years ago, but were now concerned that their trust seemed overly complicated and unclear. He asked if we could review it, and I gladly offered to schedule a consultation. Jokingly, I teased him for not using Hurley Elder Care Law from the start. He said, “I assumed you’d be more expensive because of your high reputation and special services.”

I was surprised by his assumption — it wasn’t accurate. I told him so, and he suggested we provide an explanation of our costs and service during our marketing calls, because he would have made a different decision. Shortly after our conversation, I went on vacation with my husband, Mark. We stopped at a specialty ice cream shop, and my server piled my cone high with s’mores ice cream, while Mark’s smaller scoop of coffee looked like it belonged to a child. Of course, Mark insisted on a taste of my ice cream filled with graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate, and admitted mine was more satisfying and unique.
