Recently, I spoke with a longtime senior industry professional and friend. He and his wife had completed their estate planning with another firm about five years ago, but were now concerned that their trust seemed overly complicated and unclear. He asked if we could review it, and I gladly offered to schedule a consultation. Jokingly, I teased him for not using Hurley Elder Care Law from the start. He said, “I assumed you’d be more expensive because of your high reputation and special services.”
A personalized approach
I was surprised by his assumption — it wasn’t accurate. I told him so, and he suggested we provide an explanation of our costs and service during our marketing calls, because he would have made a different decision. Shortly after our conversation, I went on vacation with my husband, Mark. We stopped at a specialty ice cream shop, and my server piled my cone high with s’mores ice cream, while Mark’s smaller scoop of coffee looked like it belonged to a child. Of course, Mark insisted on a taste of my ice cream filled with graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate, and admitted mine was more satisfying and unique.
Value proposition
As we left the ice cream shop, we both agreed that I got better value with my cone because it was piled high with ice cream, thanks to my generous server, who cared about making sure I was satisfied, and the homemade s’mores flavor was packed with unique ingredients.
Why Hurley Elder Care Law?
After this experience, I decided to follow my friend’s advice and share our firm’s ‘why’ and ‘how’. Yes, Hurley Elder Care Law takes great pride in our reputation for providing top-quality, white-glove service to all our clients. This should be the standard expectation for any service. Why feel that you must pay a higher price to get the service and expertise you deserve?
Expert advice from a team of professionals
Additionally, in nearly 20 years of practicing elder law, we have built a team of experienced attorneys and staff. This enables us to give truly expert advice in our elder law specialty. We have developed a team approach that starts from the moment someone calls our office until we deliver our estate planning binder or close the case. We employ intake specialists with extensive elder law experience who can share resources and schedule attorney consultations. Our attorneys are Certified Elder Law Attorneys (CELA) and are consistently chosen as Super Lawyers who personally meet with each of our clients during their first appointment. Our Public Benefits team and paralegals include former bankers, nursing home professionals, and estate planning specialists who guide our clients through Medicaid asset protections, probate, and trust funding. Perhaps our most unique services come from our care coordinators, who help guide caregivers through changes, advocacy, and managing the death of a loved one.
After 14 years at Hurley Elder Care Law, I’m proud to continue offering the same “heaping scoop” of value and service. Call us today at 404-843-0121.
