Public Benefits Assistant

Hurley Elder Care Law seeks an early-career professional to join our Public Benefits Team as a Public Benefits Assistant. This role is perfect for someone eager to gain valuable experience while supporting the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Document Management: Organize and manage Medicaid-related notices and client files.
- Case Initiation: Prepare case binders and initial spreadsheets with accurate information for new cases.
- Client Engagement:
- Facilitate new client retention meetings, including document preparation, signature collection, and scheduling.
- Assist with non-retention meetings by collecting fees and providing proposals.
- Calendar Management: Coordinate and maintain deadlines for fair hearings and other key milestones.
- Case Closure and Renewals: Manage case closure tasks and guide clients through Medicaid renewal processes.
- Client Support: Help clients gather necessary documentation during meetings.
- Communication Support: Respond to calls and emails professionally and efficiently.
- Administrative Assistance: Support attorneys and the management team with additional tasks.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and CRM software is a plus.
- Experience with Apple products in a Mac environment.
- Attributes:
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
