Are you a caregiver for a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s? Are you struggling with challenging behaviors from your loved one? Would you like to learn more about dementia and how it impacts thinking and functioning?

If you answered ‘yes’, please join us for an informative lunch discussion on “Responding to Challenging Behaviors of Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias”. Thurs. May 2 at Hurley Elder Care Law, 2727 Paces Ferry RD SE, Building 1, Lower Lobby Conference Room

Sometimes, people with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia behave in ways that adult children and other family members find particularly confusing, inappropriate, and sometimes frightening.
This discussion is designed to help families understand that what we may consider concerning or challenging behaviors from a loved one with dementia, may be an attempt to communicate physical, psychological, or social needs and wants. Caregivers will learn strategies to interpret behavioral symptoms of dementia and identify appropriate responses to behaviors.
This insightful program will be presented by Laura Medders, LCSW, with Emory’s Integrated Memory Care Clinic, and is FREE and open to caregivers and family members.
*Lunch is co-sponsored by Hurley Elder Care Law and the Alzheimer’s Association, Georgia Chapter.
*This event is for caregivers and family members only. Space is limited.
