Add to Calendar July 26, 2023 12:00 pm 1:00 pm America/New_York FREE CE Webinar “Un(be)friended : Aging Alone By Choice Or By Circumstance”

UNBEFRIENDED is defined as people who lack the capacity to make their own medical and financial decisions and who have no family members or other surrogates to speak on their behalf. Unbefriended patients are mostly elderly, with many suffering from dementia or mental illness. Some have alienated their families, while others have simply outlived them. What options are available to healthcare providers in Georgia for the unbefriended? What does the law allow for? What, if any, responsibilities do families have to step in as decision-makers for estranged family members? The CE explores options to support the unbefriended.
