Lauren Magaña, Care Coordinator
Lauren Magaña joined Hurley Elder Care Law in 2020 as a Geriatric Care Coordinator. She has several years of social work experience with geriatric clients.
As a Geriatric Care Coordinator, Ms. Magaña is responsible for a variety of duties, including life care-planning assessments, emotional support for seniors and their family members and on-going monitoring of the seniors’ conditions and needs. She makes referrals to appropriate local providers that serve the medical, housing, cognitive, social and emotional concerns of clients. Distant family liaison management, crisis intervention and coordination of the elder healthcare team are additional responsibilities.
At Hurley Elder Care Law, Ms. Magaña will assist in the creation of a geriatric care plan that best maximizes the elder’s existing resources and discovers additional resources in order to allow them to retain dignity, independence, and remain functioning at the highest level for as long as possible.
Ms. Magaña graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work from Georgia State University. She has her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Ms. Magaña has extensive experience in complex cases in all phases of life. She has worked with the homeless population in Atlanta, elders in skilled nursing facilities and long-term care, and hospice.
She entered the field after being inspired by her mother, a licensed hospice social worker. She fell in love with the privilege of working with the elderly population and continues her education and dedication for clinical licensure. One of her greatest joys is creating and maintaining personal relationships with clients and their families as she works to promote and advocate for dignity, respect, and quality of life with the team at Hurley Elder Care Law.
