It is unique to have a grandmother, daughter, and granddaughter working in one office. We feel so impressed and fortunate that for the last 11 years, Sandi Nelson, Dawn Houston, and Theresa Denlinger have done just that at Hurley Elder Care Law.
After years of working as a nurse in the WellStar Health System, Dawn joined Hurley Elder Care Law as a Client Care Coordinator. For over a decade she has been providing in-person assessments and recommendations as well as on-going support and referrals for our clients with aging and long-term care issues. She has helped hundreds of families through difficult times, connecting with the appropriate resources and navigating through hard decisions. Shortly after she joined the firm, we experienced a boom in new clients and thus a need for more administrative support.
Dawn’s mother Sandi Nelson, a retired teacher, joined us to provide that support on a part-time basis. She has been working in our office for almost 11 years while also fitting in lots of travel, volunteering, art, and time with family into her life. Sandi is a shining example of aging well, and we all hope to be as active as she is in our 70s.
The need for more administrative support led us to look for a public benefits specialist, and Theresa Denlinger, Dawn’s daughter and Sandi’s granddaughter, joined Hurley Elder Care Law about 11 years ago as well. Theresa quickly became Miles’s right-hand woman for all of the Veterans we serve. Her excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering professional customer service make her an invaluable member of the team and an asset to each of her clients.
Hiring these three generations of amazing, gifted women was a series of lucky decisions we made during a time of big growth in our firm. We are so fortunate to have them all and celebrate their 11 years with us. They share a close, cohesive, supportive relationship while also holding each other to high expectations, and our clients and our firm benefit from their strong relationship.
