Hurley Elder Care Law is a proud member of the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association (LCPLFA).
This association is a national network of holistic law practices that offer legal services, care coordination and advocacy support to help elderly clients and their families respond to the challenges of aging, long-term illness, and disability. When Miles Hurley founded our firm in 2006, he made a commitment to offer a full-service practice model because he realized families need legal, financial, and emotional support as they are faced with aging issues. In fact, we are the only elder law practice in the metro Atlanta area who utilizes a holistic model for their clients.
An important aspect of our Life Care Planning model is our care coordination service.
At Hurley Elder Care Law, the care coordinator is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) who works alongside the elder care attorney and public benefits specialist to meet the needs of our clients. The care coordinator is the clients’ main point of contact for all care-related questions. They can also educate and support clients and family members regarding aging issues, care at home, cost of care, placement options, and community resources.
Another extremely helpful role of the care coordinator is to assist client and family members in understanding the long-term care and health care system especially regarding long-term care placements. We also educate our family members to become advocates for their loved one’s right to quality health care and long-term care.
The value of the care coordinator
We are often told our care coordinators become almost like an extended member of our clients’ families because of the close bond they forge when assisting with crisis situations. Many of our families share their experiences in their Google reviews of Hurley Elder Care Law. Truth be told, many times we feel the same way. Our clients become a member of the Hurley Elder Care Law family. Our Life Care Planning model of practicing elder law allows for close contact and an ongoing relationship with our clients. Almost 16 years after the founding of our firm, we are certain this unique holistic manner is the way we will continue to share our experience and advice with our clients.
