Seniors Playing Games to Stay Sharp

senior gamesAbout 78 percent of older game players are using laptop or desktop computers to have fun and one-quarter of them are playing to stay mentally sharp with the video and online games. A survey conducted by AARP and Entertainment Software Association found that nearly 40 percent of Americans age 50-plus play games on various devices at least once a month. Of these, three-quarters play at least weekly with 40 percent playing every day. Half of the 50-plus on-line gamers are playing games more today than they did five years ago. Their favorite games are card or tile games followed by puzzles and logic games, trivia, word and traditional board video games. According to Rich Taylor, Entertainment Software Association senior vice president, very few in this population choose the shooter or fighting games. The older players just want to have fun.

Try out some of these games to have a little fun and keep your mind sharp.  http://www.aarp.org/health/brain-health/brain_games/
